How to Consign

If you wish to sell your work, we will first conduct an appraisal.
Appraisals are always free of charge.

Work Appraisal

If you wish to consign your work, we will first conduct a free appraisal.
Based on the information and photos of the work, we will provide a provisional appraisal price within a few business days.

step02

We receive your work

Upon receiving the provisional appraisal price, if you wish to continue with the consignment, we will keep your work.

How to send your works

* If you choose to ship your works, please note that shipping costs to be borne by the consigner.
* Depending on the number and size of the works, and location, our staff may be able to collect them in person.

Evaluation and Contract

After receiving your work, Kashima Arts will do careful inspecition and make a final selection.
If your work passes the selection process, we will then propose the minimum bid price and other terms of the consignment, and proceed with the contract process.

step04

Catalog production and preview of work(s)

Once the contract is completed, we will research and photograph the works in preparation for preview.
Information and photos of the works will be published in various promotional materials such as catalogs, websites, and social media.
In addition, we will exhibit the works at the preview, providing buyers with an opportunity to see the actual pieces.

Announcement of auction results (bid opening)

Bids are opened within 3 business days from the auction end date, and you will be notified of your results.
In addition, the results of all listed works will be posted on the website.

step06

Payment

Once the auction result has been announced, you will be requested to make the payment.

Consignment fee

Consignment fee will be charged for each lot.
If successful: 12% of the successful bid
If unsuccessful: 3% of the minimum bid

* Additional fees such as catalog listing fee and insurance fee may apply.
* Consumption tax will be charged separately for the consignment fee.

Payment

In the case of a successful sale

Once payment has been confirmed by the winning bidder, Kashima Arts will pay you the hammer price after deducting the consignment fee and other expenses.
The payment will be made 35 days after the bid opening date.

In the case of an unsuccessful sale

Please confirm the details of your invoice and pay the consignment fee and other expenses.
Your work will be returned once your payment is confirmed.
If you wish to sell your work instead of returning it, please feel free to consult us.
