There are variety of ways to sell. We can purchase from you, or arrange private sale to our
customers, as well as consign at our MEGURU auction. As an experienced art dealer, we will
propose the most appropriate method to meet your needs.

There is a chance that assessed amount will be higher if you provide us with information on
the works, such as provenance, the condition of works, exhibition history, works published, etc.

We make assessment on all Japanese artworks ranging from paintings, hanging scrolls,
folding screens, framed works and crafts such as ceramics. Chinese art, swords, armors and
the like are not our speciality, but we can introduce appropriate specialists.

You are welcome to bring the artwork. Please make an appointment in advance.

All the lots are available for view during the preview period. Information on the lots listed in
the catalogue and website may differ from the actual color tone, form, and may be difficult to
see other specific conditions. At the preview, you can check the condition of the lot (color
shades, scratches, etc.) We will create condition reports upon request for those who are
unable to see the lots in person.

You may submit the Bidding Application Form from our web site, or in person
at the preview, or email / fax the form attached at the end of MEGURU catalogue. Please note
that bidding by methods other than above (such as telephone and verbal statement) will be
void. We will send you a confirmation after we receive your bidding form.
We apologize for your inconvenience but please contact us if there is no confirmation from
Kashima Arts Auction Office.

For each lot, the highest bidder will be the winning bidder. If there are multiple bids with the
same highest prices, the one received earlier will take precedence.

The auction results will be posted on our website. Winning bidders and all other bidders will
be informed of the auction results by mail.

You cannot cancel your bid after having won the lot. If, however, the auction committee
accepts cancellation, you may cancel with the payment of 20% of the hammer price as a
cancellation fee.

Winning bidders need to pay the hammer price, handling fees, and consumption tax by bank
transfer or in cash within two weeks after the bid opening day.
・If you would like to pay in cash at the gallery, please contact us prior to your visit.
・Credit card is accepted only over the counter at the gallery with an additional fee of 5%.
・The bank transfer fee shall be borne by the customer. Please send the payment to the bank
account below.

For each hammered lot, the winning bidder is required to pay buyer’s premium and the
consumption tax applied to the premium, in addition to the value of the lot won.
For the lot with hammer price of 1,000,000 yen and below, the buyer’s premium is 12% plus
consumption tax on the premium, so the winner is to pay the sum of the lot, the 12% buyer’s
premium and the consumption tax applied to the premium.
For the lot with hammer price above 1,000,000 yen, the buyer’s premium will be 12% for the
1,000,000 yen, and 10% for the rest of the amount. The winner is to pay the sum of the lot, the
buyer’s premium and the consumption tax applied to the premium.

The lots will be delivered after payment is confirmed.
Unless otherwise indicated in the bidding form, all the lots will be shipped to the stated bidding address.
*Shipping and handling feels to be borne by the customer.
If you would like to collect your work(s) in person, please contact the Kashima Arts Auction Office in advance.
Additionally, please remember to bring your invoice with you on the date of pick up.
If you have made your payment via bank transfer, please present the relevant bank transfer statement.
